Grade 3: Seed Sale

Spring is coming and the time to plant seeds is around the corner!  Next week the 3rd grade will begin selling open-pollinated, heirloom seed collections as a fundraising effort.  There will be five different collections to choose from, everything from flowers to vegetables to herbs. The sale will run for two weeks and your seeds will be delivered to your child about a week and a half later.  Please watch for a sign-up genius or look for any 3rd grader to support our efforts!

Urban Prairie's New Early Childhood Program!

The new Early Childhood space is coming together beautifully, but we could still use your help to finish the space. Please find a list of needed items and details for our upcoming Open House below:

Parent Education Spring Calendar

At Urban Prairie, we consider parent education to be an essential part of the work of our school, and we strive to offer a wide range of lectures, workshops, and experiences.  These events are intended to enrich the parent experience at UPWS and strengthen the bridge between school and home; however, they are not limited to UPWS parents.  We welcome all who are interested in learning about child development, education, and how Urban Prairie brings Waldorf education to life.

Check out (and share!) the spring parent education calendar here.

Top 5 Reasons to Attend Progressive Dinner and Dance
  1.  Connect with your inner Sanguine, leave the kids at home and enjoy adult time with fellow UPWS parents and friends!
  2.  Get rid of the winter chills with tasty food and drinks such as Hot Buttered Rum, Coffee/Tea, dessert station and more!
  3.  Tour the new facility led by UPWS dads Ed Sindelar and Mike Nishi…..see what 6th grade teacher Mat Riendeau has been Lazuring.
  4.  Try your luck at split the pot raffle!
  5.  Dance the night away with your favorite tunes, disco lights, and fog machine!

It is less than TWO weeks away! BUY YOUR TICKETS NOW!

Join one of the Progressive Dinners in Lincoln Park, Hyde Park, Tri-Taylor & Oak Park for 10-20 adults (limited tickets) and your entrance to the dance is included in your ticket!

Oak Park is wide open, but the other dinners are over 50% full! Get your tickets now!

Can’t join us for dinner? You can purchase tickets just for the dance, too! Dress Code is Freestyle!

Ride-Share to the dinner and dance! Download the Lyft app, select a coupon code to get up to $20 in Lyft Credit to use on your first ride!

Funds raised from this event go toward the Parent Council overall goal of raising $10,000 this year. If you can’t join us, please consider making a donation!

Please email Megan Sindelar or Dona Nishi with any questions. We are in need of a handful of volunteers to bake desserts, donate wine or beer, or help for a 30-minute interval during the dance!
