After more than two years of parents creating and transforming Parent Council into an organized support structure for the school, the time is right to solidify parent understanding of the Parent Council structure and to establish a method for identifying and choosing parent leaders in the future. The Working Group will complete readings and discussions which will lead to bylaws and a working structure for Parent Council moving forward.
The Working Group will meet at Urban Prairie Wednesday, January 14th from 11am – 1pm and Saturdays, January 17th and 31st from 9-11am. Children are welcome at the Saturday meetings, but we can not accommodate them during school hours on 1/14/15.
We will be reading The Second Classroom by Torin Finser. It is available via Kindle or local bookstores. We will share other articles and findings via email. Interested in joining us for one or all of the meetings? RSVP to parent.council@urbanprairie.org
