Hello all!
I hope that your long weekend was a great one! Well, we are back in school for the lat leg of third grade. We are continuing with our writing as we explore modern housebuilding. This week we will look at the work that the framers do in putting up a house. Lots of writing, drawing, and a few hands on experiments as well.
- Grades 2- 6 Eurythmy Performance is tomorrow, May 27th at 6:00. Please see the email from Peggy for details. If you are unable to join us, please let me know ASAP.
- Summerfest Saturday, May 30th from 11:00am-2:00pm. Come join us for food, dancing, games, and more! Hope to see you all there!
- All School Music Performance Wednesday, June 10th from 6:00-7:00 pm. Mr. Garcia requests that the students wear their “Sunday best” for the event.
- Homework: Our homework is a little bit different this week. The students have been asked to draw a floor plan of their house. If your house has more than one floor, I asked that they choose one they like the best. We talked a bit about how to go about the process, drawing as if they were a bird looking down on things. I have provided the children with paper and asked that it be done in colored pencil/crayon, and that the entire floorpan be colored to represent the color of the floor, carpets, etc. This is intended to be a fun project, so please feel free to lend a hand and explore the dimensions of your house! This is due on Friday, but Monday is okay if your child needs more time. This little assignment will segue into the next two weeks, when the children will design (but not build!) their own dream house. Please let me know if you’ve got any questions.
