After School Programs
Introduction to Outdoor Games and Sports
September – October, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 3:30 – 5:00
UPWS Staff will take students to and from Sheridan Park tennis courts. Students will be instructed by Coach Danai and will learn the fundamentals of tennis through drills and games. Grades three and above may join our tennis team.
October – November, Mondays and Wednesdays, 3:30 – 5:00
Flag football is instructed by Movement Teacher, Ms. Kondrat, and played in Arrigo field. Students learn the rules of the game through various exercises and playing scrimmages at the end of each practice. Grades four and above are welcome to sign up here.
April-May, Mondays and Wednesdays with Saturday games
For the first time, UPWS Soccer will participate in the KICS League. Students will practice in Arrigo Park with Movement Teacher, Adriana Kondrat, on Mondays and Wednesdays. Games will be played on Saturdays at a Chicago Park District field. Grades three and up are welcome to sign up.
September – May, Fridays
Climbing club is hosted at Brooklyn Boulders every Friday throughout the school year. Climbing club leaves UPWS at 3:20 and walks to Brooklyn Boulders (100 S Morgan St.), suits up and begins climbing for a full hour from 4pm-5pm. All grades are welcome to climb. The cost is $25 per child each Friday. Follow the link to sign up. You must sign up for each Friday that you would like for your child to climb.
