The Community Building team met monthly during the 2017-2018 school year. The goal of this team is to serve and support school initiatives, other Parent Community committees, and to find ways that will build community connection. One main event is the yearly Community Fair, typically held in November, where parents and others in the community share their services, skills, and passions with the community. Community Building also support celebrations around festivals, parent/guardian education opportunities during Earth Month, Screen-Free Week, and Teacher Appreciation Week; new in 2017-2018 was the addition of the Birthday Gnome and School-wide Progressive Dinners. Throughout the year, the Community Building team can be called on to collaborate with other teams to support whatever is needed. This community is looking for ways to build parent/guardian support and community within each classroom and across grade levels using color teams, which are teams from all grade levels used during our yearly Jumpathon! The Community Building team offers parents/guardians fun opportunities to be involved in many different areas!
