The children have been working with their hands almost exclusively and will continue to do so in the coming tipi climberweeks.  We are still finding time for math practice and Weekly Words, yet most of their energy is dedicated to the shelter project and play.  They are excited about the play and eager to share their ideas for how to make it work.   Together, the class is building a large tipi.  Each child took part in making it possible by either measuring and marking, cutting, sewing, and more.  You will see the completed shelters and the big tipi at the play on Friday, March 10th.

Here are some pictures of a Plains tipi village that they created and some Hopi adobe houses that they made.  There is also a painting of an adobe house.  Enjoy!
